Lexington Medical Center, a part of Lexington Health, earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization focused on patient safety for the Spring 2026 rating period.

The Leapfrog grade stands as the only national hospital rating program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections. An "A" signals a highly effective, proactive approach to protecting patients.

"Patient safety and exceptional quality of care are at the foundation of everything we do, and this grade is a direct reflection of our staff’s commitment to that standard. Their hard work means our patients can trust when they walk through the doors of Lexington Medical Center they are receiving world-class care,” says Kirk Jenkins, Lexington Health president and CEO.

"An ‘A’ Grade is a strong sign that Lexington Medical Center is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm, " says Leah Binder, Leapfrog president and CEO. "We commend the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction."

Leapfrog assigns A, B, C, D, or F grades twice annually (fall and spring) to general hospitals nationwide using evidence-based performance measures. The program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.
